President Hu Jintao of the "people's" republic of China refused to meet our Prime Minister. Apparently he was somewhat taken aback by the new Canada's hardline on human rights abuses in that country!!!!! Boo freaking hoo.

Shame on the business leaders who prefer to overlook these abuses for the sake of a few shekels of profit coming from the sale of cheap plastic junk, some of which was produced using slave labour. These profits only strengthen this brutal, bloodthirsty regime, while weakening us as manufacturing jobs are lost here.

* By way of explanation for the title of the post and how it was framed, There is a Led Zeppelin song called "Hats off to (Roy) Harper" . Roy Harper was a blues guitarist. the song can be found on Led Zeppelin III, one of the few Zeppelin albums I have any use for.
